The development of CHEMPARC
today is the fruit of a number of key advantages. Its future is assured
if we can continue to profit from these factors:
-
An exceptional
industrial tradition for an area which was an agricultural region until
quite recently.
-
Experience of working
with risks firmly established in local companies after 50 years of
natural gas extraction and chemical industry.
-
An exceptional level of
acceptability by local population and authorities for industries which
cannot always claim to have a good image.
-
The presence of world
class industrial companies: market leaders which help each other out to
solve everyday local problems.
-
Effective cooperation
between all the economic forces in the region: industry, local government,
administration, trade unions and local associations.
But, amongst all these
advantages, there is one which needs to be highlighted: the network of small
and medium sized companies (PMEs) working in the Lacq area. This is one of
the key forces behind the continuing economic development of CHEMPARC.
The PME network operating in the Lacq area represents more than half of
industrial employment and the number of employees continues to grow.
It is made up of companies with a wide variety of size and origin :
• local branches of large national groups,
• major local companies,
• very small companies (TPE) working in specific domains.
This unusually rich and varied network can reply to all industrial needs.
* PME (Petites et Moyennes Entreprises):
Small and medium sized companies, working often as sub-contractors for
industrial organisations. |
