CHEMPARC is situated at the crossroads of communication. On the threshold of Spain, the chemical plants are well placed for importing and exporting their products. The CHEMPARC development zone is set in the heart of the Toulouse-Pau-Bordeaux triangle, and close to the Basque country. It represents the most important cluster of industrial platforms in the Southwest of France. Its unique characteristics make it a privileged site where industry and well-being coexist in perfect harmony. Quality of life, a scientific and intellectual environment, excellent networks of roads, rail and air travel all give additional benefits to the exceptional technical advantages offered by CHEMPARC.
A stimulating technological environment
The public interest group, (GIP- Groupement d’Interêt Public) was born in 2003. Its many partners have supported the creation of this development organisation, dedicated to the economic growth of the chemical industry in the Lacq area. Major national and international organisations have united their efforts under the CHEMPARC banner. GIP CHEMPARC’s partners are grouped into four “colleges”:
-National, regional and local government, -Chemical manufacturers, service sub-contractors and Chambers of Commerce and Industry, -Research, technology transfer, industrial advisory and training organisations, -Unions representing salaried personnel.
The GRL (Lacq Research Centre) is one of the main research centres of the ARKEMA Group. It has recently started up a pilot production unit making carbon nanotubes which is unique in Europe. Together with the UPPA (University of Pau and the Adour area) and the IFP (French Petroleum Institute), this brings together a scientific support group which assists and supports the local chemical industry.
The fascinating town of Pau is only 20 km from CHEMPARC. With a long and eventful history the town stands proudly facing the Pyrenees Mountains with all its ski resorts. The magnificent beaches of the Atlantic coast are less than an hour’s drive away. Investors can therefore build and operate industrial plants with the confidence that stems from an exceptional countryside, surrounded by an internationally renowned scientific environment.
Target : to produce in a secure environment together with a remarkable quality of life ensuring the satisfaction of all involved.
All roads lead to Chemparc
Road and rail networks plus airlines… Chemparc is easily accessible…. Situated only 20km from Pau Airport, the industrial complex benefits from frequent daily flights to Paris, Lyon, London and Amsterdam. The A64 motorway allows rapid travel and transport to the Atlantic coast, Spain, and the Mediterranean. All the production platforms are equipped with railway branch-lines. Particularly well served by the chemical terminal of the port of Bayonne, CHEMPARC provides the necessary infra-structure to bring in raw materials and send out finished products.
